Extension: A holder may apply at Immigration to extend a stay by up to another 180 days; official Consular Affairs guidance states a maximum of 360 days for one entry, after which the holder must leave Thailand.
A multiple-entry visa can remain valid for years while each entry has its own permission-to-stay period. Do not plan a continuous stay from the visa-validity headline alone.

The Department of Consular Affairs announced an adjustment/addition to DTV supporting documents on 28 August 2026. Do not rely on a pre-update static checklist; use the current DTV category and responsible-mission/e-Visa requirements at the time of application.
Financial evidence: Official DTV material requires financial evidence of at least THB 500,000, with the acceptable supporting evidence assessed in the application context.
Supporting evidence differs by DTV purpose. A workcation applicant, an activity participant and a dependant should not assume that one another's document packet applies unchanged.
DTV workcation coverage is for the stated remote-worker / freelancer / foreign-talent purpose. It is not the ordinary Thai-employer employment route and must not be treated as blanket authorization to take local employment. Thai-employer work has separate visa/work-authorization rules.
If a Thai company will employ you to work in Thailand, use the dedicated Work Permit guidance rather than treating DTV as a shortcut around the employment and work-authorization route.

The reviewed official framework states: Up to 180 days per entry. The visa itself is valid for multiple entries during its validity period; that is not the same as one continuous multi-year stay.
Do not treat DTV workcation status as the ordinary Thai-employer employment route. A job with a Thai employer belongs in the Work & Business / Non-B and work-authorization framework.
