Civil marriage registration and immigration are separate journeys. For the supported Thai–foreign registration route, prepare the Thai partner's identity evidence, the foreign partner's passport and official marital-status evidence, then follow the translation and legalization path that applies to where the foreign document was issued.
The registration also uses witnesses and an authorized civil registration office. Completing the marriage does not by itself grant a visa, extension of stay or Work Permit.
Keep the Thai partner's documents, the foreign partner's documents and the translation/legalization branch separate. That makes it easier to see which evidence belongs to whom and which step only applies because a document was issued outside Thailand or by a foreign authority.
A single-status or marital-status certificate is not the marriage certificate itself. It is supporting evidence used before the civil registration is completed.

After registration, the civil relationship exists for the purposes supported by the certificate. A later spouse-immigration application can use relationship evidence, but the marriage certificate itself does not extend a foreign spouse's stay, grant a visa, authorize work or create Permanent Residence.
